Your Experience Matters

Why hire me as your birth photographer?

I've been where you are.

I'm not just a birth photographer and videographer - I'm a mother as well.

I've experienced birth and all of its sensations, somehow different yet universal.

And I've experienced the regret too.

Like many new mothers, I didn’t realise all the moments I would miss until months after my first baby was born.

Because everyone was so focused on supporting me during my birth, I have no photographs.

I didn’t make that same mistake again and I don’t want you to live with the same regret.

KIND WORDS

—  Sam, Quinns Rocks WA

To say that Amber captured what was most important to me is an absolute understatement. Amber has completely blown my mind with my birth gallery and has given me possibly the most cherished images I have. When I look at my birth gallery I feel like I can bring myself back into that moment, into what each surge felt like, that feeling of my baby moving down with my body to make her grand entrance. I can see my husband’s face as he watches on and the never ending hand holding (or hand crunching if you will) that I never went a surge without.

I kept my eyes closed throughout most of my birth but any time I did open my eyes I never had a camera in my face, instead I was met with Amber and her comforting, gorgeous smile. Amber was so gracious and I honestly never even thought about or realised she was photographing away.

Not just birth photography. Not just a birth film.

Let me walk you through the experience of hiring me to document your incredible birth journey.

Adding me to your birth team isn't as scary as you might think. I'm a quiet and calm presence in your birth space and I only ever bring calm energy with me.

I will help you to feel supported, empowered and comfortable. And the best part is, I will take incredible and beautiful photos and film that you will love and cherish forever.

01
Conception ~

After we’ve been in touch, we may have a catch up over the phone or in-person. This depends largely on what you’re comfortable with and what questions you have.

Birth is incredibly intimate, so I want to make sure that our energies flow. This phone call also helps me get a great idea of how I can best document your birth. This is your journey and that’s how I want to tell it.

If you like we can then organise a time to meet in person. These meetings can last anywhere from 20 minutes up to 2 hours depending on what we talk about. I love being transparent with my families, so please feel free to ask me anything. I only take on 1-2 birth mama’s a month so I don't risk missing your birth.

02
Pregnancy ~

Once you’re ready to book, I will email you a link to your online portal where you can complete a short questionnaire, review and sign your contract.

I know hiring a professional birth photographer can be a significant financial investment. This is why you can make payments weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly. You know what works for your finances and your family.

I'm here to support a financial plan that works best for you. All that's required is a $500 deposit to hold your birth spot with the remainder spread out over your pregnancy and postpartum. I also offer payment plans through PayRight which offer you 12 month interest free plans from when you're 37 weeks.

03
Birth ~

During the third trimester, we’ll meet in person again (or for the first time). I don’t want you to feel like I’m a complete stranger when I arrive at your birth! By that point, most of the plans for your birth will have taken shape, and that’s a good time to go over those, plus any specific requests or last minute questions you may have. We’ll also review when and how to contact me when labor begins.

Once you hit 38 weeks I officially go on call for you, day and night, until you give birth. I love to be kept updated during this time, text messages are great but I do prefer to have at least two phone calls, once when you think you're in labour and again when you ring your midwife to attend your birth.

My theory is if it’s intense enough for the midwife, it’s intense enough for my presence as well. This really helps me to arrive in enough time. We all know how unpredictable birth is, so this is my cheat sheet to follow instead of dilation.

Once your babe is earth side I stay for ‘golden hour’ and document all those beautiful firsts.

04
Postpartum ~

Within 24-48 hours I send through a minimum of 3 hand edited digital images to keep your oxytocin flowing.

In approximately 6 weeks following this you will receive a minimum of 100 hand edited digital images via an online password protected gallery.

You'll have access to your online gallery for up to one year. You can download as many times as you like during this time.

If you have selected a package with prints you can then choose your 50 beautiful 7x5 inch prints for your unbound album. These will be ready approximately 4 weeks after your final selections are made.

Would you love to have a birth film?

The fluid motion of a birth film can add that extra experience to relive one of the most amazing days of your life.
